Innovation through transformation
For almost 40 years, Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) has provided a free referral service across Australia. The aim was to prevent harm to our communities and damage to our underground infrastructure. It all started with the significant bulldozer incident in 1984 in Bibra Lake, WA. That is when foundation members created DBYD, initially known as the “Perth One Call System”. Our organisation has since evolved, keeping up to pace with the latest technological advances.
Last year, at DBYD, we launched the Next Gen referral service. This made it easier and more efficient to lodge an enquiry. Along with this advancement, it was time to drop the ‘Dial,’. All states united as one national organisation to continue stronger with our vision of Zero Damage, Zero Harm.
We are pleased to announce that DBYD is now transitioning into Before You Dig Australia (BYDA). As BYDA, the changes include a new business name, a new logo, a new website, and new social media channels. Everything else will remain the same, including your log in details and how you receive your responses. However, as a national organisation, BYDA will deliver improved levels of efficiency to support our members, users of the service and the community at large. In addition, there will be a consistent approach across Australia to damage and harm prevention.
When will the change take place?
The change will take effect officially on the 1st of July 2022. Make sure to follow our new national social media channels and stay up to date with the latest:
Our rebranding will reflect the new national organisation, giving it a unique look and start. The change is not significant. We would like to assure our members and users that we are still the same with a slight makeover.
Final note!
In the upcoming months, we will be updating our marketing merchandise. We understand that changing the logo is a process that can involve several steps and may take some time. Therefore, if you have used our DBYD logo in any of your marketing materials or content, please assist us in updating them. We appreciate your support, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
